Area information
Hampton
The Hamptons are surrounded by a variety of public spaces. To the west is Kempton Park Racecourse, to the north is Hanworth Park, and between them all is the colossal Bushy Park/Hampton Court Park, 1,099 acres that boast deer and sheep grazing and any number of cricket, rugby and football clubs. Space precludes a listing of the activities that the park can offer, but junior ranger days, horse riding, fishing and the revived Victorian custom of Chestnut Sunday (in May) are just a few. Hampton Court Park is the more formal of the pair, with some impressive 17th and 18th century landscape gardening.

Teddington is well served with all the trappings of prosperous middle class suburbia: restaurants, cafes, wine bars, and designer shops. At last count there were about two dozen restaurants here serving fare from just about every corner of the globe.
Green space is abundant: aside from the vast expanse of Bushy Park, Teddington has lovely walks along the Thames and Richmond Park lies just across the river. It’s also close to Hampton Court and Kew Gardens.
Twickenham
In terms of price and prestige the most expensive corner is to the east, south of Richmond Road on the borders of Marble Hill Park. Here you’ll find Georgian terraces and cottages (Montpellier Row is here) as well as substantial Edwardian family homes, all beautifully located close to the park and within a stones throw of the river. Central Twickenham has Victorian and Edwardian houses of various sizes as well as a lovely collection of Georgian cottages on the triangle of streets around the Green.
Richmond
Richmond upon Thames is one of the most attractive of the outer London boroughs, the only one which spans the River Thames. Its boundary extends from Hammersmith Bridge to Hampton Court, comprising areas of Barnes, Richmond, Ham, Petersham, Kew, Twickenham, Whitton, Teddington, Hampton Wick and Hampton. The area of the Borough covers 5,868.9 hectares, of which more than 5,000 acres is open space. The area also includes more than 20 miles of riverside, 1,126 listed buildings, 63 designated Conservation Areas, and approximately 230 miles of roadway, including 36 miles of metropolitan roads.
